Elizabeth Carrión

Elizabeth Carrión (Liz) is a contributing editor for Latinista and your one-stop-shop to Latin Foods 101. She enjoys sharing her love of cooking & the gratifying experience associated with tasting foods from all over the globe. As one who believes food is one of the few things that connect people, Liz learned of this first hand when she planned her sister’s birthday at the ripe age of 10. It took place in her parent’s garage and some of the menu items included grape soda & cracker jacks. A few years and some healthy tips later, she graduated to the next level and hosted “International Day”, where guests were challenged to bring dishes from their native country.  Liz’s journey has led her to experience different ways in which she can impart her love and knowledge of cooking.  Some of her accomplishments include: launching her MiCocina-Latina blog site in 2010, catering special events for companies, such as Ogilvy and Ernst & Young, providing children’s cooking classes at the Jump Immersion school in  Edison, NJ & having her recipes featured on Fox News Latino in both the Lifestyle and Health sections of their website.
Liz is only getting started!  She is embarking into her next chapter with writing her first cookbook! Stay Tuned!
